Highlights of the 2018 NSSA annual meeting
The NSSA held its annual meeting Nov. 15 at the Four Points Sheraton in Chicago, Illinois. All members were invited to attend the meeting, listen to board-member discussions, and participate in committee discussions. Here are a few takeaways from the conference:
- One of NSSA’s greatest efforts for 2019 will be asking members to use their expertise and influences in the storm-shelter industry to move NSSA forward through promoting its purpose and mission, membership opportunities to peers, purchasing seals, and promoting other NSSA member’s businesses.
To help members promote the association, the board is working to produce a single-page overview and fact sheet that will streamline the process of signing up for NSSA membership and its advantages. This document will be available spring of 2019.
- The following members were nominated and confirmed by vote as the executive committee: President Jason Pirtle, Vice President Elton Allen, Vice President Ben Harris, Vice President Daren Wheeler, Vice President Maria Hahn, Vice President Karen Olson, Secretary Sean Morris, Treasurer Michelle Barbee, and Past President/Operations Manager Mike Vaughn.
